Finally, a way to effectively just carry one device for my palm and phone. This is great! Would've loved a memory expansion slot, but that's minimal. I bought it off of eBay at a discount even though none of the Sprint stores had it in stock. I'm not a big fan of SprintPCS service, since the coverage is so bad, but their customer service has improved significantly ever since they installed their automated phone assistance "Claire". But, since they're the only ones selling this phone, I'm staying with Sprint -- just keep up the innovations. So, I replaced my Motorola Timeport and Palm Vx with this unit. I actually did a test when I took my business trip to Maui for YPO (what better time to test out phones ... at the two ends of the US). I took an AT&T Wireless, Verizon, and my SprintPCS phone. Found that both the AT&T and Verizon phones had identical coverage that was a lot greater than my SprintPCS phone (which didn't work in Maui at all except for very sparse Analog roaming). The AT&T service isn't as advanced in that the phone doesn't get the date/time from the system (none of their phones do this) and voice mail required you to constantly enter the password. The Verizon service seemed superior in all aspects in terms of time/date auto-settings, and coverage (same coverage as AT&T). Too bad the Samsung phone isn't available for Verizon. |

The C1VSX is similar to the US-version C1, but is more technically advanced. The 667mhz processor and 30gb HDD overpower its U.S.-brethren. Most innovative: it has an integrated Bluetooth chipset. Perfect! (I would love this laptop, it's just a bit pricey right now) |

| Sony Mini DV Digital Camcorder
and Still Photo Camera DCR-PC5: click
here for specs
The DCR-PC5 Mini DV Handycam camcorder combines ultra-small cassettes, high-quality digital video and CD-quality digital sound. A 1/4" 680k pixel CCD image sensor produces bright, clear images. There's also a 10X optical /120X digital zoom for up-close shots and an i.LINK® interface for high-speed connection to your PC for editing, e-mailing or posting to the Web. And removable Memory Stick® media makes it easy to store, print, and download your stills. ($1499 ERSP*) I just bought this from www.mpsuperstore.com -- they had the best price, and open to take phone orders on Sat/Sun. Be weary though because their slick and fast talkers, and service on the phone sucks, but for the price (over $400 under ERSP), I can deal. I suggest not buying the extended warranty that they sell. DO NOT buy their warranty. (I now solely use the Canon PowerShot S110 below, and use this one only infrequently when I rarely need video) |

| iRogue for Palm | Rogue is old, for a computer game. I used to play it as NetHack and Moira on UNIX and my PC back in college. When I found this, I got all "misty-eyed and nostalgic." These games are text-based and have a familiar premise: wander around in a dungeon, collect treasure, deal with bad-tempered monsters, try to finish a quest. And, best of all, it's FREE, just like the original UNIX version. | ![]() |

| Palm V dual action stylus (pen and pointer): click here for specs (I used it for several months, but found that the cap that is friction based, became loose and so stopped working. I imagine it's an engineered flaw that is in every unit. I called Palm to see if they could replace it and they noted that accessories are not covered under any warranty. Ick! For a $40 product, I would've expected better). Instead try these Pentopia styli, excellent! | ![]() |
